Who is Nottingham Lens?
"I’m not just taking pictures; I’m learning a new way to see the world, one frame at a time."
Beyond the Lens
For me, photography is the perfect blend of exploration and motion. It’s the primary driver that gets me out of the house and on my feet, turning a routine weekly hike or a city stroll into a mission to find the perfect light. Whether I’m navigating the organized chaos of Japan or visiting America for work, I’ve found that seeing the world through a viewfinder forces me to appreciate the finer details I used to walk right past.
While I love sharing my favorite captures on Instagram, I’m the first to admit I’m not a professional. I’m a dedicated hobbyist, still very much in the "mad scientist" phase of learning—experimenting with different styles and figuring out exactly what all those buttons on my camera actually do. I make it a point to get out for dedicated shoots at least once a week, but my gear is usually tucked in my bag daily; some of the best moments aren't planned, and I’m always chasing that next "lucky shot."
My Gear Bag
I believe the best camera is the one you have with you, which is why my kit ranges from specialized glass to the phone in my pocket:
| Equipment | Purpose |
| Sony A6400 | My main workhorse; compact, fast, and perfect for travel. |
| TTArtisan 35mm f/1.8 M2 | My go-to for that creamy "bokeh" and sharp street portraits. |
| Sony 16-55mm OSS | The versatile zoom I use for wide landscapes and everyday shots. |
| Sony 28-70mm OSS | Great for when I need a bit more reach and stabilization. |
| Google Pixel 9 Pro XL | For the shots that happen when I'm "not" taking photos. |
